Wrayvynn's NestTo drop a stone of truth into the ocean of knowledge is to make waves all over the world. Do it, because I am tired of being the ONLY one to tell you that you are wrong america.
26/07/2009 Palins Step UpJust got back from the Governors picnic… I’m glad there were lots of state troopers there because if there weren’t I would have kicked me some PROTESTER ASS. Why bother, why waste GOOD lumber and paper to make signs that show how ignorant you are in HER LAST MOMENTS as governor. SHE’S LEAVING, isn’t that enough for you people?!?! Never in my life have I seen such rudeness. First, they had to take the highest vantage point in the area (not that they intended to take pictures). Then just when I think I’m going to get good pictures, POP, up go all the signs, so not only do I have heads in my photographic line of sight but BIG REDICULOUS SIGNS. What honestly did they mean to accomplish that they haven’t ALREADY? THEN they start booing her when she starts talking about utilizing Alaska’s resources. I let ‘em have that one, but then they started booing other things she said too. SO, me being me, I shouted in a very brief moment of silence after their booing “SHUT UP, YOU GUYS ARE BEING RUDE!” and they DID. Damn dirty hippies, I never thought I’d say that, but here it is. They stunk so bad; the one we were standing behind smelled like BO and wet moldy granola. They reeked just as badly as their opinions. And to top it all off, someone stole my antenna topper off my car. Bastards3/07/2009 Any one notice?Anyone notice the way they chopped her speech up to make it look as though it was just for her childrens sake to step down. They completly cut the part where she talks about how the ethics complaints have cost her and the state of Alaska well over 2 milion dollars. Shes talking about saving THAT money, that she doesnt want to cost the state money just so she can hold office, she set out to do here what needed to be done, the ball is rolling and Parnell knows what to do with it.
Then msnbc outright admits it has had its hand in costing the state its share of 400 grand looking into her goddamn e-mails. Bullcrap. I miss her already...Well THAT was unexpected, though I can’t say I blame her. What better way to stop people from filing frivolous ethics complaints against the Governor than to step down as Governor. It’s pretty sad when a law YOU made gets used against you daily for stupid crap like name brand snowsuits. Bet you won't see frivolous ethics complaints on Parnell, not because he's clean as a preacher's sheets, but because the national media and every other Palin hater is going to say "Sean who?"
I heard with my own ears people cracking retard jokes about Trig; that’s got to be hard to hack for any mom. I hope to all hell that you people (you KNOW who you are) end up having a child with a similar disability. It’s only just. And I hope people make fun of your ‘retard’ to your face instead of behind your back.
If I had 60+ year old men making perverted comments about my daughter I’d probably re-think my place in the public eye too. And then people wonder why celebrities hide their children from the media; because if they didn’t it would be the equivalent of throwing them to the sharks or leaving them in the desert to be pecked apart by vultures.
I hate to say it Sarah, as much as we love you, you should have told McCain “no” and stuck to your post as Governor, made a run for a second term, and then made the run for 2016. The media would be bereft of ammo to fire in your direction. Now people will wonder if you’ll step down as President in the final year of your term. But I trust you. I trust your judgment. Some people say this is the perfect move made at the perfect time all things considered. Some people are pretty sure this is the last wave smashing over a capsizing ship. At any rate, you can use our boat anytime. 29/06/2009 The Great White Thunder ThiefWay to steal Farrah's thunder Jacko. Dick.
Why do I have to hear about this over and over? He dies and suddenly all is forgiven??? WTF. Why are we HONORING him? Yes folks, lets honor the kiddie diddling king of plastic surgery. Born as a black man, died looking like a white woman with white children. I thought I was tired of hearing about his antics when he was alive! Good god people! This is complete insanity. Frankly, I find it comforting that he is now unable to lay his creepy little hands on anyone anymore.
This whole thing just highlights one more time, how retarded our country has become.
30/05/2009 Oh lord, our memories are sooo short.Channel 11 news- "Already this year there are more forest fires blazing across Alaska than last year."
Uhm... thats because we got RECORD RAINFALL LAST YEAR! Rain like we haven't seen since 1967! Effing morons! What about the LAST TEN YEARS of fires before last year?
I bet we are right on par with previous fire seasons if you exclude last year and its freakish wetness.
"Symantec spent millions of dollars developing thousands of anti virus programs last year."
And I bet they spent a million more paying people to MAKE viruses to give you a reason to pay up every six months on an antivirus program you already bought once!
What an awesome scam. I wish I had thought of it first.
17/04/2009 Late UpdatesLeucistic Raven Entry 2 4-10-2009
No one has seen much movement out of Lucy in a week or so now which tells me that she’s sitting eggs at this point. Her mate is often seen nearby on train tracks or road sides scavenging road kill and melting snow in his gullet to bring back to Lucy. The snow has not gone enough to allow me easier passage back to the nest yet, so we wait… On another note, another pair of ravens is making repairs to a nest very close to my home. Presumably because of the high winds that run in the spring. Watching them work together has given me a little insight into the behavior of ravens you just can’t get from a book or online article, and it is behavior I didn’t get the chance to observe with Lucy. Both birds share the nest building task, gingerly hopping from branch to branch in one of many cottonwood trees nearby, tugging forcefully on green limber branches until they find a nice dry dead one that snaps off easily. So far I have not seen them carry anything longer than their wingspan is wide. Like Lucy’s mate, the male has chosen a roosting tree to look upon the nest site from, keeping watch for intruding juvenile ravens. This nest is VERY high up in a spruce tree; Lucy’s nest is about 15 feet lower (at the least) and in a cottonwood tree, but both are made of cottonwood tree branches.
Stay tuned…
Leucistic Raven Entry 3 4/12/09
Today I saw one of the home pair (I need to find a name for them) taking a large clump of moss, grass, and fluff of some sort, back to the nest for lining. The wind must have really screwed it up. I’m almost positive they have been nesting here for a while. Mid to late June there is usually a small group of juveniles who hang out for a week or two before going wherever they go. I always just thought a neighbor wasn’t taking care of his garbage or some such nonsense, but now I know. I wish their nest wasn’t so high up, I’m not sure how much of a chance I’m going to have to really observe them once the female starts sitting her eggs.
Stay tuned…
Leucistic Raven Entry 4 4/17/09
She’s gone. I mistook her lack of movement for sitting eggs, but in fact, she has vacated. I went back to the nest today and there was zero movement, I found a few small feathers, and that was all. Later I watched and photographed another pair of ravens stealing the lining materials out of the nest and carrying them to a different site about a quarter to a half mile away. I must say, I am wholly disappointed.
Theory 1: Perhaps something happened to her mate and she had to abandon the nest. If he is not able to bring her food and water, that’s her only choice.
Theory 2: Perhaps someone nearby saw her and decided she was just so cool they had to shoot her to possess her.
Theory 3: Perhaps she is infertile? Maybe they come back every year to make an attempt at offspring, and then leave once they realize their efforts are fruitless. Theory 4: Could this new pair have managed to push them out of their territory?
The only way I will know is if she returns next spring, until then, here is an abrupt and unpleasant end to the Leucistic Raven Journal. I will continue to observe the site, and the other nest near my home. May be that pair will have more luck.
26/03/2009 Meet LucyLeucistic Raven Entry 1 3-26-2009
Lucy, I’m going to call her. I first saw Lucy last February, 2008; aloof and flighty at the courtship presentations of her potential mate. We observed their aero-ballet for a week or more, and then she just disappeared. We should have known something was up right then.
Lucy and her mate reappeared this year, in the first part of March. This time no courting seemed to be necessary (either that or we never noticed their display). He, with his glossy black plumage and impressive beard of throat feathers, seemed content to fly in huge circles above and secure his territory. While she… …Tended to their nest.
Yup… a nest.
This spurred me to do some research, not a whole lot turned up however. But then I found an ABO article about a Leucistic raven sighting in Fairbanks written back in 2002. Observers of the bird said they had seen it three years in a row at that point. The sightings describe a juvenile raven doing juvenile things, and the sightings always take place in the winter and since stopped since the bird would have hit adulthood and taken on different behaviors the year of the last sighting. That’s right; I believe this to be the same bird given the rarity of such genetic flukes. If it is I would guess she’s about 6-7 years old. I have a relatively clear line of sight to the nest and am considering documenting basically the rest of the pair’s life together. I’d like to count how many, if any, of their offspring Leucistic.
Stay tuned...
![]() 11/02/2009 Lets Take a VoteLets take an Alaskan vote:
Does anyone else think we should build our "Bridge to Nowhere" with this "Money from Nowhere"?
It will create jobs...
*shrugs*
Just a thought... 3/02/2009 Y'know, Willie Nelson owed taxes once...Well well well. What can I say?
Is there anyone on Obama's team who HAS payed their taxes?
And...are they all "unintentional accidents"? All "innocent blunders"?
Is it really possible that our tax codes are THAT farking hard to comprehend even for the "elite"?
Could it also be possible that our country is broke because a vast majority of politicians live high on the hog and don't pay their taxes?
I bet'cha Sarah Palin doesn't owe taxes...
Just thought I'd throw that out there...
12/12/2008 Seedlings is Available for Purchase!1/12/2008 Here...we...go...Here we go...say it with me now... Martial Law... can you say that? Mar-tial-Law.
Beans, Bullets, Bullion. Get some. 19/11/2008 Balance it out...I have decided…that watching the “wrong” channel…is perfectly okay. I realized…that if I only watched the channel most aligned with my thoughts…politically speaking…I would be completely unaware… I would be blissfully ignorant…ignorant in my bliss. I would have no idea what the left is up to. Well, I would…but it would still be sugar coated speculation. I’d much rather read between the lines myself…see through the veil of pretty words…myself.
The Bail Out: It seems that everyone in Washington is in such a panic over this that they are not thinking clearly…It seems pretty simple to me…
Don’t give the money to wall street OR ANY other humongous corporation…DON’T give the money to individual households…Give it…to small business owners…small business owners who are SUFFERING THE MOST from bigger business’ irresponsible practices. Let the giants fall so the small can grow… Like a lumberjack. Cut down the big trees…the big trees that produce more carbon dioxide than they do oxygen in the course of a day, doing more harm than good while blocking the little trees from receiving a surplus of precious sunlight… Let the little trees fill in the gaps; let the little trees become big trees.
This would suddenly enable small businesses across the country…to have more job openings…which all those laid-off GM workers could scoop on.
Balance it out…that’s another good analogy. Visualize our economy as a triple beam scale…the consumer on one side and big business on the other, while small businesses are the slider weights which move along the graduated scale on the beam which runs between them. The scale, on the consumer side, outweighs the big business side. How do you balance it out? Do you add more to the consumer side, or do you add more to the big business side? OR do you adjust the small businesses in between?
IT IS the ONLY LOGICAL answer. But I forgot…Logic does not exist in Washington DC. 14/11/2008 ObamagateY’know… I just realized something…
I have been watching the wrong channel all these years! All this time I have watched NBC without realizing exactly how biased and manipulative they were until this election cycle. Now, in retrospect, I know why I spend so much time writing angry rants. All this time I have felt as if the world has been misled, global warming, Obama, fuel prices, all of it. This is why it feels like no one is listening!
I mean hell, they go to the arctic in the SUMMER TIME to tell you about global warming, because everyone in the south still thinks Alaska is covered in ice year round and that we live in Igloo’s, hard to make a global warming case in the winter time. I watched Matt Lauer’s report from Greenland… where it was a good 32 degrees and snowing… and at that exact same time it was -20 here (in Fairbanks) on damn near the same latitude. That was about this time of year, late fall early winter. Of course they fail to mention that. But they had a team of people stuck in the North West passage for a month DURING THE SUMMER, and this morning I wake up to this.
This morning they tried to tell me that sailors in the Northwest Passage, the last time it was open, would have seen ice on some island along the way. Sounds like a riddle on an IQ test.
“If six Vikings are on a ship in the Northwest Passage, what do they see?”
Obviously, not ice, if the Northwest Passage is open.
On a seperate yet somehow related note....
Everyone was asking what the media had to gain by controlling the masses to vote for Obama.
NBC is owned by GE (yes the makers of all those CFL light bulbs that they just told you were necessary to save the world and save a buck on energy too) GM is part of GE…GM is looking for massive amounts of bailout money…. Hmm.
I’m beginning to really, really believe that this is all a scam, and in 20 years we will be teaching our children about “obamagate” in school, the biggest hank of wool ever to be pulled over our eyes.. It will all come out of the woodwork in due time. It’s all too fishy to ignore. 7/11/2008 My Morning Rant For TodayFirst off…Kath and Kim= everything that is wrong with this country! EVERYTHING! …Whoever green-lit that shit needs to be drawn and quartered.
OPRAH- Before the election= “I would never have ‘that woman’ (Sarah Palin) on my show.” After the election= “I want to interview ‘that woman’ now. Yes, yes I do.”
You two faced cunt. I don’t know HOW you get people to look past their own personal beliefs and bow to the almighty Oprah and obey your commands. What the hell? YOU woman, are the Anti-Christ. Evil. Just evil.
Jay Leno- I thought you were some big tough biker jay, where are your balls? More like the faggy biker from YMCA. I change the channel when you come on these days. Your writers suck, they puppet you into saying rude shit about people that’s not even true or funny. Part of this shit being funny is that it’s supposed to be Ironic, there’s supposed to be some truth to it, not completely fabricated bullshit. Perhaps your writers just aren’t clever enough to pull that off… why again are they getting paid more these days? They are doing a worse job now than before it seems.
President Bush’s dog bites a journalist- Well…terriers were bred to kill RATS…With the way journalism has been going I can see where the dog might have felt it was doing its job… Give that dog a ribeye.
Madonna- “…an octogenarian dominatrix.” ~Lars Larson. Why should we listen to this professional pole dancer’s trashy venomous classless lip? Same with Sandra Bernhard. What an angry dyke. She’s just pissed that she a’int getting none of that (Palin) action EVER! They can both take their gap toothed, quarter slot on a vending machine lookin, shit spewing mouths and go host orgies at upscale retirement homes. I’m sure Cher already knows the ropes, she can get them started.
Have a super day… 6/11/2008 Yeah we know hes a dirty dog, but he's our dirty dog.BTW, Alaska isn't voting for Ted Stevens! It's voting for the republican ticket! THATS ALL! We KNOW thay are going to either push Ted out of his seat or he's gonna have to step down. ALL WE WANT is to at least TRY to keep the majority vote out of Democratic hands! Palin returns to Alaska to chants of '2012'Palin returns to Alaska to chants of '2012' Do new, embarrassing reports overshadow her homecoming?"Newsweek’s “Special Election Project” reported other accusations being lobbed by campaign staffers, including new claims about Palin’s wardrobe expenditures. Calling her shopping spree “more extensive than previously reported,” one aide told Newsweek it was like “"Wasilla hillbillies looting Neiman Marcus from coast to coast.”" You FICKLE bastards! I bet y'all (fickle McCain aides)voted for the Democratic ticket too. Turncoat fuckin' pussies. I think I have had about enough of you liberal morons. I am joining th AIP just to spite you. As far as I am concerned, we should keep our (Alaska's) oil, and sell it ALL to Japan, just to show you fuckers what's up! You guys can keep your high oil prices and shitty economy, I don't want em. 5/11/2008 Free Abortions For Everyone!I am inexplicably happy… Not, mind you, because Barak Hussein Obama is the next president of the United States (YAY free abortions for everyone!), but, like I said, because we’ll have our governor back to defend us from his tyranny; because now (hopefully) things on a state level can get back on track. We can fade back into the woodwork and carry on with our lives… Return to blessed anonymity for another 4 years at least.
However, the rest of y’all have just over 70 days to buy up all the guns and ammo you can, and stash that shit in some underground bunker somewhere, before your second amendment right is revoked.
The reason I say “the rest of y’all” is because I just cannot fathom that EVER happening in Alaska. Whatever anyone else says, THIS IS THE LAST FRONTEIR, you step out your front door here, YOU are ON the MENU. Pepper spray doesn’t work…After you have sprayed yourself in a flurry of panic, it really only amounts to seasoning salt for you, the bears next meal. EVERY Alaskan politician, republican or democrat, will fight tooth and nail to keep our gun rights.
That’s more than I can say for our first amendment rights though. I never fancied visiting China for that very reason. The way I see it, we ALL only have 70 days, to share our widely varying opinions. After that it’s all zombie media, saying what the government wants them to say, and federal prison for anyone caught going against the new socialist norm.
I recently read an article in the Anchorage Daily News about how Alaska is recession proof…That being so, perhaps we as a state can snub our noses at all the free socialist handouts and neglect to pay the increased taxes and take care of ourselves. I want no part of the new regime, and I am sure I’m not the only one.
At any rate, I’m ready to sit back and wait till I can begin dropping the “I told you so” bomb with relative frequency. 4/11/2008 I voted Bitches21/10/2008 You can put your foot in your mouth now...."98.1 billion cubic feet of Alaskan natural gas" Natural gas people, its PROPANE, NOT crude oil. Its a BYPRODUCT of crude oil processing... which we currently waste by BURNING OFF emitting a buttload of carbon dioxide into the atmosphere. The whole "Natural gas pipeline" has nothing to do with drilling for more oil and more to do with NOT wasting the resource in the way we currently do. It's like selling the doughnut holes from doughnuts instead of throwing them away. Gads I wish people who don't live here would quit pretending they know what the fark they are talking about. 20/10/2008 I just don't get it.Y’know, I just don’t get it. Sarah Palin sounds like Hitler??? How are people coming to these conclusions?!? HOW? I mean where in her track record of being governor of Alaska does it show that she could even remotely be compared to such a person??? WHERE?!? Show me! C’mon I friggin’ DARE YOU. How in the name of all that is holy does “She has an 80% approval rating in Alaska” translate into “she’s a selfish dictator who is here to oppress you and take away your rights”? People come to Alaska to experience the freedom and independence it offers and people definitely aren’t leaving because of Sarah’s politics. Cripes.
Obama has been showing his dictatorship colors for the past two years and y’all appear blind to it. It’s his party that wants to take away my rights as an American, not McCain’s. It appears that no one cares about our rights anymore as long as they get free money. They are buying you out of your right to privacy, your right to bear arms, your right to educate your children how you see fit, and your right to eat deep fried foods if the DNC was any indicator! Good lord what is it going to take?
The other morning I heard some woman say “A McCain Palin presidency would lead to a police state.”
What??? LOL
She’s got it so backwards. If anything a McCain Palin presidency would lead to city militias and public oversight of law enforcement, a healthy system of checks and balances. If Obama has his way we will all be babysat by police officers with assault rifles posted at every crosswalk. You think it’s bad that you have to show ID to get cough syrup NOW? Just you wait. We’ll all have curfews like little kids.
Potential small business owner: “So, I hear you are going to take my hard earned money and give it to people who don’t deserve it.”
Barak Obama: “Yes, yes I am.”
Rich America: YAAY! Take away our money!
Middle Class America: “What?”
Poor America: YAAY! Give us all your money!
Potential small business owner: “Screw this; the welfare line at Barak Obama’s house is more lucrative.”
And so the collapse of society begins. Pretty soon every one will be sitting on their asses with their hands out. 15/10/2008 The Governor's Attorney Condems the Branchflower ReportPoints out the fact the Monegan was NOT fired, but reassigned.
Points out that "Ethics Violations" only happen when there's monetary gain involved. Which there was not.
Points out that Branchflower IS NOT judge and jury, is only an investigator. "He has no lawful authority to make a finding that carries any legal weight. He cannot 'convict' any one-- and his alleged effort to do so is highly improper."
Burn...lol.
14/10/2008 Not GuiltyHere it is folks. It seems like some people are missing the point here.
"She has not been found "guilty" of anything. She was perfectly within her right to fire Walt Monegan, it was in her power to fire him for any reason, or no reason at all. And that was the only issue the ethics committee had a right to investigate. However the ethics committee released and "ethics opinion" on the issue of trooper wooten, which was unnecessary."
Thats a loose quote I heard on the local news. I wish I could find the clip.
They shouldn't be able to have a public opinion about Wooten because the bastard still has his damn job. Why aren't they investigating him??? Why is it that this all seems so backwards?
ANYWAY.
There it is, the depositions of the witnesses and the report. Go read it.
4/10/2008 Do your research people!Since the whole of the US seems to NOT know what they are talking about...PLEASE DO look at the state of Alaska website, there you can find information one EVERY LAW AND LEGISLATION that Sarah Palin has her signature on. There you can learn where the permenant fund dividend comes from and how the process works. You can see fishing and hunting rules and regulations. Review the Alaska constitution. Among many many other informative things. 3/10/2008 The Great Debate UPDATED many many times nowThis is how it started.

mmmhmm...?
Well she's a journalism major and i have no idea how that goes along with being second in command of an entire country... Barack Obama was president of the Harvard Law Review and was a professor at the University of Chicago, one of the top colleges in the country. Oh and just because you can govern a few thousand people does not mean you have the experience to run a million or so. Obama and McCain are senators, but they both probably have more experience in politics than she does. The only reason McCain picked her was because she was like the last in line. People like Romney and Giuliani want another chance for running for president. Seen SNL with Tina Fey lately? ps and geez who's stupid enough to want to teach creationism in schools?!?!All the evidence is there. I go to a Catholic school, and even they say that evolution is true adn there was not an actual Adam (which means man in hebrew) and Eve. They say man was truly created when he was given a soul. ~Wrayvynn4 days 2 hours ago Hide
Look, I have already railed and ranted against all you points elsewhere. If we could move the argument over there [link] maybe we could actually get somewhere with this.
Everyone seems to go deaf at the word "creationism" and fail to hear her say "and evolution" or "give the students and parents the choice and put education back in the hands of the parents". She's not about to push her beliefs on you just because she holds a position in office. It's not something that she's been pushing for here in Alaska, that anyone would think she would push it on the US as a whole is just silly. I mean, damn, I'm Pagan, and I still like her. I believe that it has to be created before it can evolve. But that's not what this is about. Obama has spent his entire time in the senate running for president, I don't see where he's really accomplished anything with the position he holds now, why anyone would think that a more comfortable chair would some how inspire him or clear his thoughts more is beyond me. People are just so afraid of being branded a racist for having a rational thought in their head that they are just going right on with the ebb and flow of the media circus. Vote how you want, but please, do KNOW all the facts, don't just run with the little snippets of quotes your hearing, because they are not painting the whole picture, they never do. I have watched every speech and debate, listened to every friggin' radio show, and heard every angle. I know this, I voted her Governor and quite frankly, wouldn't have it any other way, and I wouldn't mind keeping her here either. She won Alaska's vote without the pomp and with half the funding of the other seasoned Alaskan politicians. Read her biography, it was printed well before all the media bullcrap (by at least a year), and without any special interests in mind, and written by an author and publisher who approached her, not vice versa. ~RandomPandemonium3 days 7 hours ago Hide Report Spam
Oh so you're from Alaska??
So when she got all that money for the Bridge to Nowhere, where did that money go? Did she give it back? No. Was the bridge built? No. You would seem to know more about this than i do. I'm not afraid of being rascist and i genuinely believe that Obama will change things and that McCain will be another 4 years of failed Bush policies. I do know all of the facts and I'm not even old enough to vote and i still have watched every debate and interview etc. Also, i am not some little kid parroting what her parents say, because my dad is an Independent and is fiscally conservative but socially liberal, and he still thinks that Palin is a below-par choice for VP. And that's a fact. here let me go look at that link... ~Wrayvynn3 days 1 hour ago Hide
The money went toward much more needed infrastructure work. Most of Alaska's bridges are 30+years old and it's roads run like potholed rollercoastes. Some of our longest highways are gravel (or is some cases rocks the size of your head)and these highways carry fleets of 18 wheelers to the north slope and are vital to progress on all fronts. When they resurface the ones that are paved they are so long that by the time they get to the end of the highway they need to start all over again at the beginning because perma frost and ice heaves destroy the roads in only a few years time.
By comparison Alaska is still in its infancy as far as it's statehood goes. The federal government owns nearly every last square mile of it, it's population is slow growing as a result. It's almost like as soon as the pipeline was complete Alaska became america's bastard child as opposed to it's crown jewel. We still get treated like we should have stayed a territory so the US could rape us of our resources. How many federal dollars went into the infrastructure of other states when they were barely 50 years into statehood? Why should we get the bottom of the barrel because we were second to last in line? Obama will change things alright, but for some reason I doubt it will be the fantastical dream of rainbows and unicorn farts he forsees. Sarah truly is, has been, and will continue to be underestimated. Mark my words. All the badmouthing was started by the people she stomped when she ran for governor anyway, andrew halcro in particular; all this troopergate crap, that guy was a piss poor excuse for a cop, tazeing his stepson for crying out loud, what kind of upstanding law enforcement officer does that? He was a fish and game officer when he shot that moose on his wifes tag, he knew the law, and he broke it anyway. Its a big problem here as I am sure it is every where else, people thinking that just because they enforce the law upon the common people that somehow they are above it. If she did try to get him canned, she did the right thing as far as I am concerned. She has always been that way, doing the right thing even if it put her political career in jeopardy, which she has done before, going against the will of her own party when she KNEW damn well that something was wrong. She would rather go down for doing something right, than get canned for doing something wrong. At any rate, I never made any assumptions based on your age or maturity. Your veiws are your own, as I said, vote how you want, it's not my place to try to "convert" you and nor is it yours to try to "convert" me. Bottom line is, I'm a crazy gun totin' Alaskan woman, and we take care of our own. Both of my parents are going for Obama based simply on the wild idea of socialized health care, which doesn't work real well in canada or europe...so, ya know. *Shrugs* I'm more of the veiw if I can't afford to live, I might as well friggin' die. I mean, it's not like it's hard living in america when you compare it to a few third world nations. We really don't have it all that bad. America really HAS become a nation of whiners, with soft hands clutching at their iphones, feeble arms typing up hate articles and hacking into peoples e-mail accounts only to find nothing all that special at all. ~RandomPandemonium 7 hours 54 minutes ago Hide Report Spam
We are all entitle to our opinions. The best thing about debating is seeing the other side because we all know that no matter how much you present your points, nobody's gonna change their minds. And I'm not expecting Obama to pull out some fairy dust and make everything perfect, but i do know that he will make more changes *for the positive* than McCain would. imho. And all taht money from the Bridge to Nowhere was given to the Alaskan people... Idk about guns/hunting though. I'm really not a fan of them... But i think it makes more sense for people in Alaska to have them because it is waaay more of a frontier than the rest of the USA is now. I mean what do New Yorkers have to protect themselves from? Tourists? When the Constitution was written the Right to Bear Arms was put in there because we felt threatened because we were being occupied by the British. These days, we have no reason to even have guns in the lower 48 because there's no legitimate threat to protect ourselves against. And in my state, it;s legal to have a concealed weapon in your car, which i think is pretty scary...
About sarah Palin: all i know is that Biden's gonna eat her alive tonight at the debate. Anyway i'm glad you like to share your views they're interesting at least and you seem to know your facts. ~Wrayvynn 3 hours 46 minutes ago Hide
Given to the people? LOL. Really? I never saw any of that money. I suspect that what you are referring to is the permanent fund dividend. If you are, you are sorely mistaken. That is windfall, based on a five year rolling average, as a result of Alaskan citizens owning the mineral rights of Alaska as a whole. We tax the oil companies 20% of their profit just for taking oil out of our ground, it used to only be 13% but Sarah changed that to reflect inflation. The only reason we got an extra 1200 dollar energy rebate is because of the surplus that netted and high oil costs, which really saved our states economy. We got a grand total of 3200 dollars per person. We are hardly living like saudi sheiks up here. And even if a person had been here since the dividends inception 30 years ago it only adds up to about 32,000 dollars. BTW Louisiana gets more than Alaska in oil dividends but their population is so much more than Alaska's that as a result it only averages out to like 30 bucks a person per year. Almost pointless to distribute.
I missed the last part of the debate because I had to take my kid to swimming class. I did hear neither of them answer at least two question not to the satisfaction of the moderator, and i heard her tear him up on energy policy. I wish I was her speech writer. My blunt answer to a pull out strategy would be to WIN. Not tuck tail and run like a bunch of sissies. On the gun issue. Every time they try to pass banning firearms on a federal level it covers all of the states. It's up to each state to manage their own affairs as they see fit, it's their right, so yeah state to state gun management to fit the states means is OK by me, but when they start try to apply blanket regulations thats when I get upset.. Bottom line is, If guns were illegal only criminals would have guns. ~RandomPandemonium 1 hour 40 minutes ago Hide Report Spam
Sunnis and Shiites have been fighting for centuries. We cannot win a war that hasn't been settled in 100's of years. I have a cousin over there in Iraq right now, and all i want is to get him out of there. Did iraq have weapons??? Nooo... Have we caught Osama bin Laden??? Nooo... The only reason Bush wanted to go over there was oil. Seriously, i love our courageous military men and women, and they do what their commander in chief asks, and even if he makes a really stupid decision they will do it anyway to serve their country. I personally think that this war is rooted in the Islam faith, and we had no reason to stick our noses where we did not belong. I would rather us keep more soldiers alive by ending the war sooner than see more die by hoping that we can end a century-long war.
Gun issue: That's not true. That's a lame excuse that all republicans use. It'd be better to ban guns than to let everyone and their mother have one. Guns in my opinion are barbaric, but everyone is entitled to their own opinion. My grandfather likes to hunt, but he said he'd be willing to put away his gun if it was made illegal. If they're not going to ban them, then they have to at least get a whole lot more strict about who can buy them and how easy it is to get them. If it had been difficult to purchase a gun, the Virginia Tech massacre probably wouldn't have happened (or at least to that magnitude). Also, i saw most of the debate, and the parts i saw, it was obvious that Sarah was waaaaay outta her league. And how can she deny that global warming is not entirely man-made when she governs probably one of the only states that can see the changes first-hand?? Or is that just "God hugging us closer?" Biden wasn't allowed to talk directly to her because of the way people would take it and he had to be careful but sarah could personally blast him however which was strange. I also felt that some of the things she said were very vague. Did you see the katie Couric interview where after she messed up she had to have John McCain sitting next to her so he could babysit and monitor every word that came outta her mouth?? Psh i'd like $1200. That would buy a lot more than a stick of gum. If she wasn't going to use the money for the Bridge to Nowhere, she should have sent it back to where it came from. That would have been the honest thing to do. ~Wrayvynn 1 hour 5 minutes ago Hide
Look, obviously this is going nowhere.
They stuck their nose in our shit first, it would be fine if they just fought amongst themselves, but they have had to drag us all through a battle that, its possible, no one will ever really win in a rewarding and graceful manner. I don't believe that global warming is entirely man made either, the north west passage was ice free once before and theres tonnes of evidence aside from that which shows, in detail, the cyclical nature of climate change, thousands of species have come and gone, without our help. And perhaps soon we too will join that list. Fossil records from the north slope show tropical flora. Fossil records under the arctic ocean show evidence of growth that only exists in tropical climates today. Thats just the tip of the iceberg. No pun intended. Gun issue: I'm not a republican, I'm an independant. And yes, it is true. If a person is so inclined or of the state of mind he or she WILL disobey the law, regardless of it's existence. People don't abstain from killing people because it's against the law, sane people abstain from killing people because they have morals and they know it's wrong. Outlawing guns will only force people to get more creative. You are either a criminal or you aren't. You either have self control, or you don't. Bottom line is if some one wants to kill someone, they are going to do their damndest, gun or not. Might as well outlaw poly-zag and draino and make everyone wear a helmet. I agree, it should be harder to get a gun, should require an extensive psychological evaluation as well as a criminal background check, also something Sarah pushes for, not allowing mentally unstable people to have access to guns, period. It should also be relatively obvious that a black kid with gang tattoos and a colored snot rag is NOT going to be using a gun for hunting any time soon. But that falls into racial profiling and thats just not politically correct; just one example of how political correctnes is turning this country upside friggin' down. Fully automatic assault rifles should be off the table. Thats the only reasonable thread in the argument here. Yeah, our gas prices varied alot this year. In the remote places it was 5.35 a gallon or more. Remote places are seeing 10.00 a gallon MILK. Minimum wage is still 7.75 an hour. A measily 1200.00 doesn't even begin to compensate for the price gouging we are currently subject to. I just paid 817.00 for 225 gallons of heating fuel and gas is still at 4.47 a gallon while places down in the states are down to 3.50 a gallon. And we have 2 refinerys in our back yard. Like I said, the bridge to nowhere money DID NOT go to the dividend, thats an entirely seperate account of funds and ONLY oil windfall goes into it. You want a dividend, encourage the use of your states untapped resources. As I said before, how many states, in their infancy, recieved federal monies to expand their infrastructure? It's not like the feds don't OWN THIS PLACE. When you own something you put money into it, you invest in it and make it grow so you can get a return off of it. But currently the government is managing it all wrong. Sarah saw that there were places the money could be used RIGHT. We just got out stretch of the richardson highway rebuilt. Eradicated some MAJOR accident prone zones and widened it up so it could handle the exponential growth of our communities and the huge influx of tourism. When I was a kid that highway was a 2 lane road and the speed limit on it was 65. Horribly dangerous. All the highway renovations I have seen in the past two years have been good and entirely necessary. ~Greyhawkstudios 22 minutes 22 seconds ago Hide Report Spam
I think Alaska should leave the U.S. BC and Alberta and Alaska should join together and make our own Country where Pot is legal booze is banned, Prostitution would be a state run thing and taxed. and our fuel prices would be less.

Actually I am more of the opinion that Alaska should be an Independent Nation. The U.S. would have a vested interest in keeping military bases here and offering protection and then OUR government by way of the people could do what it see's fit without federal regulations and greenpeace and all them getting in the way enabling us to do what needs to be done to expand infrastructure. Our state consitiution would be adhered to(which, under right to privacy and based on in the case of collette v. state (I believe) would continue to permit the legal posession of up to 2 oz per adult of marijuana in the privacy of your home) as opposed to overshadowed by federal laws.
Every time we try to do something up here to better our state congress steps in and squashes it. We could set up our OWN immigration laws and make our OWN international trade deals regarding oil. Alaska and Canada I am sure would be the best of friends what with the shared interest of the natural gas pipeline and all. ~RandomPandemonium 53 minutes 42 seconds ago Hide Report Spam
My dad's an independant as well.
The people from the 9/11 attacks were EXTREMISTS and they were from AFGHANISTAN which has absolutely nothing to do with Iraq. Again, it was for the oil. and how many black kids with gang tattoos and colored snot rags do you have in Alaska??? *sigh* this is getting nowhere and i'm getting bored of having to prove obvious points and pure facts. come elections, let the best team for our future and America and the rest of the world win, God willing. ~Wrayvynn The point of the black kid comment was in relation to STATE TO STATE gun legislation. You were talking about states like new york,"what do they have to protect themselves from?Tourists?" exactly what you said.
but if you simply must know... Link Do you really think Ahmedinejad is NOT a threat? Do you really think that the issues in Afghanistan are so far removed from that of Iraq? LOL. I'm tired of catering to your nievity myself. You obviosly have not researched the facts as much as you think you have, in fact your diolouge smacks of left wing liberal propaganda, nothing I have not read misquoted or misjudged on msnbc. Some day you will enter the real world andralize that this idealist utopia young people fantasize about is simply not posible, or responsible. ~RandomPandemonium 2 hours 13 minutes ago Hide Report Spam
ha unfortunately sometimes old people like yourself are not as wise as you think you are. LOL. And you spelled "naivete" wrong. and "obviously" and "dialogue" so you must not have read the dictionary. Am I right to make the same assumptions of you? Well at least you don't watch FOX. oh gosh and "realize" too. Geez what a pessimist. It is our duty as people of this country to make this place the best place that we can, and i know that we cannot live in a perfect world, but we can make changes. Iraq is not completely removed from Afghanistan, but i think we should have focused on there first instead of jumping into Iraq (and they DIDN'T have weapons of MASS DESTRUCTION). And we should have caught Osama bin Laden by now. wow and "possible" too? My point with the spelling is, since you think that i have not done any research at all/not thought for myself/etc. just because of the points i made, is it that much different for me to assume that you are a horrible speller who is uneducated?? I am offended that you think I am THAT stupid. Oh and did you know that your Maverick graduated 894 of 899 from the Naval academy? Here is my opinion on our candidates' educations. Personally, I would rather have a smart president than a dumb one. Usually, smarter ones make better decisions. Idk but that's just m: With America facing historic debt, multiple war fronts, stumbling health care, a weakened dollar, all-time high prison population, skyrocketing Federal spending, mortgage crises, bank foreclosures, etc. etc., this is an unusually critical election year. The idea of “leadership” must be broadened from mere “experience” to include knowledge, learnedness and insight. Let's look at the educational background of your two options: Obama: Occidental College - Two years. Columbia University - B.A. political science with a specialization in international relations. Harvard - Juris Doctor (J.D.) Magna Cum Laude and Harvard Law Review President Biden: University of Delaware - B.A. in history and B.A. in political science. Syracuse University College of Law - Juris Doctor (J.D.) vs. McCain: United States Naval Academy - Class rank 894 of 899 (fourth from the bottom) Palin: Hawaii Pacific University - 1 semester North Idaho College - 2 semesters - general study University of Idaho - 2 semesters - journalism Matanuska-Susitna College - 1 semester University of Idaho - 3 semesters - B.A. in journalism Now, which team are you going to vote for ? Because I know which I would. Oh and please don't bother replying i'm done with this. ~Wrayvynn 2 minutes 14 seconds ago Hide "Education is a an admirable thing, but it is well to remember from time to time that nothing that is worth knowing can be taught." - Oscar Wilde You wanna pick on typo's in a reply try not making any yourself in your previous responses. Maybe work on your punctuation a little too. Also I am not seeing where you have made any real points. His law education only makes him a better liar, thats all. And yes I will assume you have not looked into the issues. I mean, to make a remark so ignorant as "that bridge to nowhere money went to the people of the state" without actually finding the facts to support that claim is just assinine. If you really wanted to KNOW what her experience is you would be perusing the legislations she's signed and looking at our yearly budget, which is completly available on line at [link] You don't have to have book smarts to make a decision, all you need is common sense.
